Our Story
At Guccella, every creation begins with heritage and intention.
Founder Tashania Matos comes from a long line of women with an extraordinary gift for design — a talent passed down from her mother, her aunts, and her grandmother. From a young age, she was surrounded by creativity, learning the foundations of craftsmanship directly from her mother.
Growing up, her mother would create clothing for Tashania and her sisters — not only as an expression of creativity, but as a way to ease financial burdens. What began as necessity became something far more meaningful.
As they grew older, Tashania and her sisters began designing their own pieces, which her mother would then bring to life. Each garment was unique — thoughtfully imagined, carefully made, and created just for them.
It was in those moments that she discovered the beauty of owning something truly one of a kind.
One of her most cherished memories is a handmade doll her grandmother lovingly created from socks — a piece she still keeps today as a symbol of where it all began.
Alongside it sits the Kewpie doll she once designed for as a child — both still present in her craft room today, quiet symbols of where it all began..
Her journey into fashion started early. At just eight years old, she began sewing by hand, using fabric scraps to create tiny garments for her dolls. What began as curiosity quickly became passion.
Over the years, she continued designing — creating pieces for herself, her sister, and her friends. Though she stepped away from sewing for a time, the desire to create never left her.
On May 31, 2016, that passion found its true purpose.
Inspired by a conversation with a friend who admired how she styled her dogs, Tashania saw an opportunity — not just to create, but to redefine pet fashion. What started as a simple idea quickly became something more.
That vision became Guccella.
In the beginning, every step was a process of discovery. While she carried the foundation of her upbringing, building Guccella required her to grow beyond it — learning, adapting, and evolving with every piece she created.
There were moments of doubt, especially when clients requested designs she had never made before. But with encouragement from her husband — who reminded her never to limit herself, and to always try — she chose to say yes.
That mindset became part of her craft.
Each request became an opportunity to learn, to refine, and to push her creativity further. And with every piece, she proved to herself that she could bring any vision to life.
Today, that same philosophy guides Guccella.
Every creation is designed to offer more than beauty — it is meant to give each client the feeling she once experienced: owning something uniquely theirs, made with intention and care.
Through each piece, Guccella hopes to create moments — memories captured through fashion, styling, and the bond shared with their beloved companions.
